I can't remember back that far! I'm sure I was listening to the radio late on a school night! |

"Dream Evil"
It was about 1990 and my brother had a double (tape!) metal compliation called "Protect The Innocent". It was full of songs by various bands, ranging from Deep Purple (Fireball) to Ted Nugent (Scream Dream) to bands closer to that day like Kingdom Come (Get It On) and House Of Lords (I Just Want To Be Loved). I used to listen to that compliation constantly and "Dream Evil" was one of my fave tracks. It still brings back goosebumps when I hear it. |

I first heard Dio when he was singing for Elf but I cant honestly recall which song. Back in the mid to late 70s both of my uncles who had just got out of the Army turned my moms garage into thier own "crib". Lots of partying, women, and rock. When he became the frontman for Rainbow my uncles were already big fans so of course those albums were played all the time.
Thankfully they moved out before he joined Black Sabbath or else we probably wouldnt have a house left _________________ http://www.myspace.com/tcbk273

The devil cried. I remember my brother listening the song and I started thinking "Who Is that singer?". I wanted to know more about him and then I discovered DIO. |

| I remember it well..."Rainbow In The Dark". I was 9 years old and my brother was 15 in 1983...he loved heavy metal and I loved him. I remember hearing AC/DC, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept, and others, but I recall being instantly hooked by the keyboard line in "Rainbow In The Dark" and the distorted guitar...and then the voice...so powerful! |

Dear moderators! A few days ago I wrote here a question regarding a dvd "We rock!", because there is a lack of one song, Heaven and Hell and a drum solo of Vinnie in the gig of Holland
in 1983. Could you tell me, why my question was deleted?
And, why the song Heaven and Hell and Vinnie's drum solo is missing there?

I THINK it was Rainbow In The Dark
...at least when I heard that it became a firm favourite of mine until I managed to dive deep into the world of Dio. |

I actually became a Dio fan from an episode of South Park. They had Dio singing Holy Diver on it, and I was like, "This song is catchy, I'm going to check it out!" Now I am a Dio addict, and he is my alltime favorite singer/band/song writer.
Now I own every cd Dio has made. This includes everything from Elf, to Rainbow, to Sabbath and to his solo years. I just can't get enough Dio |
