Such a shame... I got really sad when I learned it's been cancelled... I stand here with the ticket in my hand. 2004 was such a great show in Gothenburg!!!!! Was meant to be a warm-up for Sweden Rock Festival for me, but hey....
What happened anyway???? |

Contrary to the announcement posted on the Ride For Dime web site, legendary heavy metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio (DIO, HEAVEN AND HELL, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW) will ***NOT*** perform at the fourth annual Ride For Dime charity concert which benefits Little Kids Rock. "[We] do not know where this information came from, but we can assure you it is completely untrue," a Dio management representative told BLABBERMOUTH.NET earier today. "We have never been approached about this event, and Ronnie is working on the HEAVEN AND HELL record at this time."
Ride For Dime (RFD) is an annual charity remembrance ride and concert event held in memory of the victims of the December 2004 Alrosa Villa shooting — "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, Jeff Thompson, Nathan Bray and Erin Halk.
This year's concert will take place on Saturday, August 16 at an as-yet-undisclosed venue. Artists scheduled to appear include HABIT OF FORCE, BLOOD OF THE SUN, HELL GOAT and PUMPJACK.

BEWARE - Dio US Concert Scam
Please be aware that the DIO band is not playing any North American dates this year, and that there is a person going around booking fictitious dates with unsuspecting promoters.
The only dates this year that are legitimate are the UK/Scandinavian dates as listed on the tour section. |

It is a massive surprise to find out that
Tony Iommi will be back with Ronnie, Geezer and Vinny in So.
California to finish a heaven & hell Lp. by the end of May '08 . This'll give Ronnie and the dio band guys a decent amount of
time to settle in w/ each other & finish some rehearsing & group practice for the Uk/Scandanavia concert dates. I guess i'm kinda wishing Ronnie would've gone right back into the studio w/ Dio complete the Magica double cd but finding out a full length Lp. from the 2nd generation black sabbath for the first time in about 16 yrs. ought to be real amazing, great and kick ass.
Seems like Tony, Geezer and Bill W.(?) will back on with Ozzy at
the start of 2009 for the "sabbath" 40th anniversary tour. Seems
like then Jan-Mar of '09 is when the Dio camp will have the opportunity to finish recording the magica 2 & 3 to complete the story from the first one released back in 2000. Also really wishing to find out "Why not?" as to some main reasons Dio will not be playing any shows in N. America during 2008?? Ah, well.
It would be so choice to come up with the money it would take
to afford buying 3-4 tickets for one of the UK shows,not to mention
enough also for a hotel room, drinks and meals and local cab rides naturally back and forth from the concert hall. Anybody with any inside info. please feel free to due tell if you have the liberty to

I believe Bill Ward is no longer able to tour due to health issue's
And I doubt that a "Sabbath " reunion will ever happen!
But I have been known to be wrong before...

DIO (the band) will be doing a small tour this spring. So far only UK dates have been announced. As for the remainder of 2008...
H&H WILL be on tour once they are done with the new cd and tie up whatever they have going.
